Miriam (Marnie) Grace (Jones) Kerrigan

MIRIAM (MARNIE) KERRIGAN (NEE JONES) peacefully passed away on March 23, 2023 at 94 years of age. Marnie joined her loving husband of 63 years, William (Bill) Kerrigan and is the last of her wonderful generation in our family.

Marnie was born in Huntsville, Ontario and grew up in Toronto; daughter of Clara and Thomas Jones and sister to Barry. Marnie and Bill met at a big band dance on Center Island in Toronto. They married in 1950. They lived in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Don Mills and Newmarket. Marnie and Bill raised four daughters: Janet (Val), Debbie (Alasdair), Ann and Elizabeth. Marnie was the proud grandmother of Andrew, Connor, Cameron, Cole and Erin and many grand dogs. Marnie loved to spend time at their cottage in Muskoka; travel with Bill; play bridge; golf; curl; be with family and friends and listen to Bill's beautiful piano music that always filled the house. She generously volunteered at The Hospital for Sick Children and in orphanages while traveling with Bill in Bolivia, Romania and Dominica. Marnie enjoyed entertaining and was a very good cook. She had a ready smile for everyone and loved a good laugh. Marnie was loving, feisty, resilient and fun. She will be greatly missed.

Marnie spent her last twelve years at Amica Senior Lifestyles in Newmarket and Barrie, Ontario. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to both residences for the loving and personal care provided to her.

As per Marnie's wishes, cremation has taken place; a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Donations in Marnie's memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
